About us...

   Our family - Adam and Jennifer Hayes, along with Ethan (12) and Caeley (10), are missionaries preparing to serve in the northern Limpopo Province of South Africa. Following several missions trips to Mexico, we felt God's call for us to serve in missions full time. It has been quite an interesting path that God has laid out for us as we have worked to obey his plan for our family.

   In the summer of 2012, God introduced us to a children's home in South Africa called The Fold. The story of how God led us there is pretty neat and we would love to share it with you - just ask! We have always had big hearts for serving the Lord through children's ministries and can see a multitude of ways that the Lord has long been preparing us for work at The Fold children's home.

   The Fold was founded by a couple from Oklahoma several years ago. After witnessing such huge need for the care of orphans and vulnerable children in the area they purchased 80 acres of land near Vaalwater and chose to offer family style housing. Indigenous women serve as housemoms, living in the homes with the children and raising them as their own. At this time there are 2 homes open, with the goal of having at least 8 homes on the property, housing 6-8 children each. They will break ground on the third home in January of 2013.

   Our partnership with The Fold will allow us to use many of the gifts and talents that the Lord has blessed them with, such as: maintenance and upkeep on the property and homes, including welding, plumbing, mechanical and electrical skills; daily Bible studies, devotions, worship and prayer time with the children and housemoms; assistance with administrative duties; sorting through and organizing donated items; helping with the children's education, including preschool and tutoring; assistance with building projects; coordinating local volunteers and short term missions trips; and teaching the children various life skills that will help them in the future.

   Our family spent 3 weeks at The Fold in October and God really confirmed his calling for us to move to South Africa. We are currently working to raise the monthly support that we need as well as to relocate. We cannot wait to return!
